Many of our customers have asked for advice on the best processes for removing stains, so we are sharing what we have learned from testing different stain removers.

  • If you have a stubborn stain on your sheet, spray chlorine-free stain remover or a mixture of 1 tablespoon of vinegar mixed with 4 tablespoons of water directly on it and then launder as usual.
  • If you have an oil stain from natural body oils, or body lotions, you can treat the stain with Dawn dish washing liquid. You can either pre-wash your sheets in the washing machine with ¼ cup of Dawn, then launder as usual. Or you can wet the stain well with water then rub a teaspoon of Dawn directly onto it, rub in gently and toss in the washer. Dawn is a natural degreaser and works wonders on the stains!
  • For blood stains, we have our weirdest tip and it works!  The person who bled must spit on the blood stain! Reason:  the enzymes in your own spit will break down the blood stain.  Try to do this as soon as possible, and before it completely dries.  Then you rinse the linen under cold water and launder immediately.   So just try not to drink any red wine just before you spit on the sheets!  Shy about spitting?  Then you can try hydrogen peroxide, it works at getting red wine out of carpets, so it works here too.  If it's not a huge amount of blood, you can pour a capful of hydrogen peroxide right onto the blood stain, then rinse in cold water and launder immediately.
