Bamboo is one of the best plants to use for soil stability and to prevent soil erosion. Its excellent for protecting a riverbank, creek or dam walls, steep garden beds, etc.  Bamboo stalks are cut at the base, not pulled out by the root. The plant is not killed at harvest, so eco-conscious people will appreciate that. This allows the stalk to regrow until its time for the next harvest.

This makes bamboo an excellent tool for soil stability and conservation.
